OVERVIEW

This charming family-friendly Cotswold stone period cottage sits on top of a hill overlooking Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Enjoying stunning viewsof the Brailes hills, the cottage boasts a wealth of character features and has been lovingly restored to an exceptional standard. The new kitchen, bathroom and laundry room were installed in November 2021.The accommodation is spread over three floors and may be unsuitable for guests with limited mobility. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to stay.

FEATURES

The front door opens into a charming sitting room complete with two leather sofas and antique furnishings, flat screen TV with Freeview capability. exposed stonework and a feature window seat. This floor also has a well-appointed bathroom with beautifully a roll-top bath, shower and toilet. Downstairs the dining room has a decorative Cotswold stone fireplace and woodburner, window seat and door to the garden room with views over open fields and countryside beyond. There is also a well-appointed kitchen with a microwave, coffee machine, large fridge, freezer, kettle, oven and a gas hon and electric range cooker. A washing machine , dryers and ironing facilities are provided in the laundry room. On the top floor, there are two large double bedrooms (one of which can be set up as a twin bedroom if required) plus a separate walk through bedroom with a day bed. There is ample  wardrobe and storage space spread across the three rooms.  The double bedroom to the rear of the property has an adjoiining ensuite. All the rooms have large windows offering excellent views of the surrounding Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

LOCATION 

Blockley is a hill village situated approximately three miles north-west of Moreton in Marsh and south-east of Chipping Campden. Local amenities include a village store/coffee shop, village halls, church, two public houses and a hotel, bowling green, sports club and gym. It is close to Stratford-upon-Avon, Cheltenham racecourse, Oxford and Bath. It is within walking distance of Batsford Arboretum, Broad Campden, Chipping Campden, Ebrington, Paxford, and Broadway. Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water,  Snowshill Manor, Winchcombe, Sudeley Castle, Compton Verney, Warwick Castle and Blenheim Palace are all within easy reach.

DIRECTIONS

From Moreton in Marsh, proceed out of the town on the A44 through Bourton on the Hill and at the top of the hill turn right signposted to Blockley. Upon entering the village, turn left opposite the pub and at the end of the road, turn right onto Park Road. Continue along Park Road and the cottage will be found on the right-hand side.

From M5 Cheltenham, head towards Winchcombe on the B4632 - continue on to Broadway where you should turn right on the A44 heading towards Stow-on-the-Wold. After about 7 miles, take the third turning on the left Greenway Road and continue into Blockley. At the T junction, turn left into Park Road and locate number 41 on the right next to the five bar gate.
